As a classical musician, I haven't been exposed to much funk until very recently, and I had fun getting to the know the genre this week. I break down some of the ways I digested my initial understanding of funk music, and write/perform an original piece influenced by this style.
Sound Bank 13 | Going Somewhere with Music that Doesn't Go Anywhere (Writing Static Music) This week I did some exploring into writing music with a static bassline - in light of using a drone, pedal point, or ostinato. Although these individual terms are different, there are overlaps between them.

For Sound Bank 17, I made it an "As Digested by a Classical Musician" video where I explore the Blues genre, but more specifically the 12-bar progression derived from it, applied to many different types of music.
